JAZZ ENSEMBLES

East London Community Band launched a new expanded jazz programme and is recruiting players now!

ELCB has been running for over 40 years, providing affordable access to music making for wind, brass and percussion players ranging from beginner to experienced and across all ages.

In September 2018, we launched three new jazz ensembles which run in parallel to our existing concert band, percussion and chamber music groups.

Meeting on a Friday evening at the Shadwell Centre, Tower Hamlets, these groups will cater for all levels of experience and will welcome pianists, bassists and drummers as well as trumpets, trombones, saxophones.

Our new Director of Jazz, James Brady says:

"With a big band, small jazz combo and a fun New-Orleans style band (the Jazz Stompers), there's going to be something for everyone in this new jazz programme, whether you've never played it before or have your Charlie Parker solos all memorised. All you need is a willingness to take part!"
